About Amy

Before we get to know each other,

let me share a little about myself

Hi, I’m Amy (she/her), and I’m so glad you’re here.

I’m a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with a Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW), and I specialize in helping people heal from the effects of intergenerational trauma. I offer virtual therapy services to individuals and couples across Ontario and Alberta.

My path to becoming a therapist was influenced by my own experiences as a first-generation Korean-Canadian immigrant. I grew up in a small suburban town where I often felt out of place because my cultural & racial identity didn’t align with the dominant norms around me. As a child, I did my best to fit in which often looked like meeting the expectations of others. Alongside this, the stresses of immigration and the inherited trauma in my family added layers of emotional difficulty that played a significant role in shaping my worldview.

These experiences are what inspired me to pursue social work, as I felt a deep desire to support others navigating similar challenges. Through my work, I’ve connected with people from many walks of life who are facing their own forms of generational pain, and it’s been incredibly fulfilling to create a compassionate space for healing, growth, and empowerment.

I understand that healing is not a one-size-fits-all process. We all have unique journeys, but there is immense value in having someone walk alongside you, providing guidance and support when you need it most. I’m here to offer a non-judgmental, culturally humble, and trauma-informed space where you can feel safe to explore the parts of yourself that are longing for healing and transformation.

Whether you're working through generational trauma, personal challenges, or looking to cultivate healthier relationships, I’d be honored to walk with you on your path to healing and change.

Therapeutic Approach

Each person's journey toward healing is unique. That's why I take an integrative, personalized approach to therapy, blending different therapeutic tools to meet you where you are. In our work together, you are the expert of your life, and I am here to support you in exploring new perspectives that help you reconnect with yourself and your innate strength.

My approach is deeply guided by compassion, curiosity, cultural humility, and a commitment to creating a safe, non-judgmental space. I believe that healing isn’t just about addressing the past—it’s about discovering the resources within you to create a more fulfilling, balanced life.

Together, we’ll explore the ways past experiences may still impact you today, and I’ll help you create healthier patterns for a more authentic, resilient, and connected life. Whether you’re healing from generational trauma, navigating life transitions, or looking to improve your relationships, I’ll guide you to the growth and transformation you deserve.
